DESCRIPTION: Where I live the only flamingos I ever see are the one or two silent sentries at a few homes in the area. They are made, of course, of pink plastic with wire legs. But I love visiting places in Florida that have colonies of flamingos in all their various sizes, colors, and shapes. Their sense of balance is amazing to me. Even when asleep, they can stand on one skinny leg without falling over! They seem so serene, as though focused on their yoga poses.
