In the Woods

DESCRIPTION: Standing in the woods is like standing in a vast cathedral. The branches extending skyward are much like the vaulted ceilings of Notre Dame or Chartres. I can’t help but assume the architects of those magnificent structures were replicating how they felt when surrounded by great trees in a forest. I myself get a sense of awe and humility. I am reminded that my own life is a small part of the grand scope of things and that my concerns, while important, should not consume me. When I stand in the woods, taking in the sights and scents, my spirit is refreshed. I am ready to move on.
